CETAPS (Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies) is the result of a merger between two previously existing research units: IEI, the Institute for English Studies, based at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, and CEAP, the Centre for Anglo-Portuguese Studies, based at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. "Dashed all to pieces: tempests and other natural disasters in the literary imagination" is an event transversal to all the research groups of CETAPS.

CETAPS invites you to attend this international conference which evokes the four-hundredth anniversary of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in order to promote a broader discussion of the impact of nature’s accidents and disasters on the literary imagination.
